What is Overtime Pay?
Overtime pay is extra pay that an employee gets for working beyond their scheduled working hours. The pay varies from company to company and depends on the number of hours worked.
If you want to add overtime to your employee’s salary calculation in SalaryBox, here are the options that you must know about to add Overtime Pay in the SalaryBox application.
Week Off Pay
When an employee works on a week off, you can pay the employee for it under Week Off Pay.
Public Holiday Pay
If an employee works on a public holiday, you can add pay for it under Public Holiday Pay.
Extra Hours Pay
If you prefer to pay hourly, you can add the overtime pay per hour in Extra Hours Pay.
Grace Period
If you want to start calculating overtime after certain minutes of scheduled working hours, you can add it to the grace period.
How to Add Overtime Pay?
Here are the following steps that will help you in adding overtime to an employee’s salary calculation.
Android
1. Once you open the SalaryBox app, click on the employee name you want to add Overtime hours to.
2. Click on Salary.
3. Then, click on Overtime on the new screen.
4. Select Overtime Pay and enter the Week Off Pay and Public Holiday Pay if you provide them.
5. Then, add Extra Hours Pay and Grace Period under Extra Hours OT.
6. Once done, click on Save Overtime Pay, and your overtime details will be saved.
iPhone
1. Open the SalaryBox app and click on the employee name who you want to add overtime pay for.
2. On the Salary tab, click on Overtime Pay.
3. You can manually add the overtime amount for the specific day by clicking on Add.
4. Then, tap on the green tick icon, and the amount will be added to the employee’s salary.
After adding overtime pay, you can finalise the employee’s payroll and generate the salary slip as well.
Desktop
1. Open the SalaryBox desktop application and click on Edit next to the employee you want to add overtime to.
2. Select Edit Employee from the drop-down menu.
3. Then, scroll down to the Attendance section.
4. Select Add Overtime Pay.
5. Now, fill in the preferred options like Week Off Pay, Public Holiday Pay, Extra Hours Pay, and Grace Period.
6. Once done, click on Save.
7. Click on Save again, and the details will be saved.
