You want to configure Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) rules to comply with tax regulations. Setting up TDS in SalaryBox automates tax deductions and helps in accurate tax reporting.
Once the CTC of an employee is updated in the system, the TDS will be automatically calculated based on the taxable income.
Go to the "My Team" section.
Click on the staff member's name whose TDS needs to be managed.
On the left-hand side, scroll down the page to find the Tax Declaration" option.
Click on the "Tax Declaration" option.
You will now see the Tax Declarations for FY, which include:
Earnings
Exemptions
Standard Deductions
Taxable Income
Total Tax Liability
Go to the "Tax Declaration" tab.
Click on the "Past TDS in FY" option.
Enter the following details:
Total Taxable Salary from April to June
TDS Deducted/Paid during that period
This ensures the full year's income and TDS are correctly reported and taxed.
By default, the system applies the New Tax Regime.
To change it:
Click on the "Edit" button in the right corner of the Tax Declaration section.
Choose either the Old or New regime as per the employee's preference.
On the same Tax Declaration page, you can also:
Add or modify exemptions (e.g., HRA, LTA, etc.)
Add deductions under relevant sections (like 80C, 80D, etc.)
